RhizoPulse Beans
Rhizobium tropiciA Rhizobium tropici inoculant built for South African dry bean varieties — early, strong and effective nodulation.

About RhizoPulse Beans
Bean crops naturally form a symbiosis with Rhizobium bacteria to access nitrogen from the air. In many soils, native populations are low or ineffective, limiting nodulation, nitrogen fixation, and ultimately growth and yield.
RhizoPulse Beans™ contains a carefully selected Rhizobium tropici strain, ensuring an early, strong and effective nodulation for maximum biological nitrogen fixation and crop performance.
Each pack also includes 1 litre of TrichoSol, AgriBac's Trichoderma-based root protector, for stronger early root growth alongside effective nodulation.
Ideal for red speckled beans, sugar beans, navy beans, borlotti/cranberry beans, black beans and other common dry bean varieties grown in South Africa.
Key benefits
Rapid colonisation
A proven Rhizobium tropici strain that colonises the root surface and root hairs quickly.
Enhance nodulation
More nodules per plant and better nodule distribution across the root system.
Improve nitrogen fixation
More efficient conversion of atmospheric nitrogen into plant-available forms.
Build resilience
Greater tolerance to stress, temperature variation and soil challenges.
Higher yield potential
Stronger plants, better pods, more beans and improved quality.
How it works
Root recognition
Rhizobium tropici colonises the root surface and root hairs, recognising chemical signals from the plant.
Infection initiation
Bacteria enter the root hair and form an infection thread, travelling toward the root cortex.
Nodule development
Bacteria are released into plant cells where nodule primordia develop and mature into functional nodules.
N₂ fixation
Inside the nodule, Rhizobium tropici converts atmospheric N₂ into ammonia for the plant.
Nutrient exchange
The plant supplies sugars to the nodule; in return the nodule supplies fixed nitrogen.
Plant growth & yield
Biological nitrogen supports vigorous growth, greater pod set and improved yield potential.
Check your nodules
Dig a few plants (don't pull) a few weeks after emergence, wash the roots, and cut nodules open to check activity.
Active nodule
Pink to red inside — this is where nitrogen is fixed.
Young nodule
Cream to light pink — developing and will become active.
Inactive nodule
Green or white inside — not fixing nitrogen.
Mixing & application guide
- Place seed
Load clean, dry seed into the seed treatment drum.
- Add RhizoPulse Beans & TrichoSol
Measure the correct amount of each and apply evenly to the seed.
- Add DP500 Protectant
Apply DP500 at 500 g per ton of seed (or 25 g per 50 kg of seed).
- Mix thoroughly
Mix for 3–5 minutes to ensure even coating of all seeds.
- Plant soon
Plant treated seed as soon as possible for best results.
Avoid mixing with high rates of copper-based products, formaldehyde or strong oxidising agents. Maximise results by using RhizoPulse Beans™ and TrichoSol with DP500 Protectant.
